Our sales and trading infrastructure is central to our ability to execute securities offerings and provide after-market support. Accordingly, our sales and trading professionals work hand-in-hand with our capital markets group, which manages the equity, debt, and convertible securities offerings we underwrite.
Through conferences, non-deal roadshows and other customized events, our corporate access department leverages our extensive network of brokerage relationships to match institutional investors with corporate executives and facilitate conversations that drive investment decisions.
Director of Equities James O’Day is a Managing Director and is Director of Equities at Citizens JMP. James previously served as Citizens JMP’s head of institutional sales. Prior to joining the firm, James was a structured credit trader at CypressTree Investments. James holds a BA from Northeastern University.
Head of Institutional Sales Brendan Byrne is a Managing Director and is head of institutional sales at Citizens JMP. Prior to joining Citizens JMP, Brendan worked in institutional sales at Credit Suisse Securities, SunTrust Robinson Humphry, and Vertical Research Partners. Co-Head of Trading John Pitarresi is a Managing Director and is co-head of trading at Citizens JMP. Prior to joining Citizens JMP, John was a Director in healthcare trading at Alliance Bernstein. He previously served as a senior position trader at both J.P. Morgan and ING Barings.
Co-Head of Trading Aidan Whitehead is a Managing Director and is co-head of trading at Citizens JMP. Prior to joining Citizens JMP, Aidan was head of listed trading at ThinkEquity partners. He has also served as a Director and position trader at SG Cowen Securities and a Principal and position trader at Robertson Stephens during his career.
Head of Corporate Access Andrew Palmer is a Managing Director and is head of corporate access at Citizens JMP. While working in corporate access since 2014, Andrew also served as head of investor relations and corporate communications for publicly traded JMP Group from 2004 until the company’s acquisition by Citizens Financial Group in 2001. During that time, he was instrumental in the planning and execution of JMP Group’s 2007 initial public offering. A founding employee in 1999, Andrew spent his first five years at the firm as a member of JMP Securities’ financial services investment banking group.
