Gavin Slader is a Managing Director and is head of investment banking at Citizens JMP.

Prior to joining Citizens JMP, Gavin was a senior banker in the technology, media and telecommunications investment banking group at UBS Investment Bank, sharing oversight of the west coast technology mergers and acquisitions practice.  Gavin previously held investment banking roles at Piper Jaffray & Co., Credit Suisse First Boston, and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, concentrating on mergers and acquisitions throughout.  He began his Wall Street career in Deutsche Bank’s leveraged finance group.

Gavin holds a BA from Claremont McKenna College, graduating with dual degrees in economics and accounting.

Ryan Abbe is a Managing Director and is head of real estate investment banking at Citizens JMP.

Ryan rejoined Citizens JMP in early 2022, following two years at UBS, where he was a Managing Director in the real estate investment banking group. Ryan spent the previous 16 years at Citizens JMP, working with equity REITs, property technology and real estate services companies, homebuilders, and land developers. He began his career at Piper Jaffray as a member of the financial institutions investment banking group.

Ryan holds a BA in economics from Macalester College.

David Kellman is a Managing Director and is head of healthcare investment banking at Citizens JMP.

David has over 20 years of experience investing in and advising healthcare and life sciences companies. Since joining Citizens JMP, David has executed over 100 advisory and capital markets transactions.

Prior to joining Citizens JMP, David was a Vice President at Paramount BioSciences, a life sciences investment firm. Previously, he was a hedge fund analyst at S.A.C. Capital Advisors focused on healthcare investing and a member of the healthcare investment banking group at Piper Jaffray. David began his career in the healthcare group of Investor Growth Capital, the venture capital arm of Investor AB.

David holds a BS in finance from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and a BSE in bioengineering from its School of Engineering and Applied Science.

Jeffrey Kung is a Managing Director and is head of financial services investment banking at Citizens JMP.

Jeffrey previously served in a senior capital markets and leveraged finance role at Citizens Capital Markets, providing debt financing solutions to corporate clients and financial sponsors focused on communications, media, and consumer retail. Prior to joining Citizens, Jeffrey worked in a treasury capacity at Level 3 Communications and in corporate finance at Wells Fargo Securities. He began his career as an engineer at IBM.

Jeffrey holds an MBA in finance and accounting from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management and a BS in electrical engineering and history from Duke University.

Kevin McClelland is a Managing Director and is head of technology investment banking at Citizens JMP.

Prior to joining Citizens JMP, Kevin was Principal at Broadview International, a technology-focused M&A advisory firm, where he led the firm’s west coast infrastructure software practice, concentrating on buy-side and sell-side transactions, divestitures, private placements, and strategic advisory assignments. Kevin previously worked for Andersen Consulting, now Accenture, designing and implementing custom and off-the-shelf software applications.

Kevin holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois and a BA from Wheaton College.

Andy Mertz is a Managing Director and head of equity capital markets at Citizens JMP.

Prior to joining Citizens JMP, Andy was a Managing Director in equity capital markets at Cowen and Company, where he oversaw equity financing activity in the technology and healthcare verticals and, earlier in his career, served as head of equity syndicate.  He previously held equity capital markets positions at Robertson Stephens and Bear, Stearns & Co.

Andy holds an MBA from Fordham University and a BBA from Pace University.
